Tested with a range of applications.

Installation Guide

The doorset installation should be in accordance with BS476-22 / BS-EN 1634-1 and manufacturer's guidelines.

During the application, the temperature of the can and room should be between 5 °C and 30 °C.
Frame/wall surface must be free from dust and grease.
Moistening the surfaces before and after the application will ensure faster curing and increase the bonding strength.
Tested with gaps between 7mm and 30mm.
Where fixing points occur pack securely using Blue 60 fire rated packers.
Screw on the applicator gun/nozzle and shake can.
Hold the can upside down and activate the foam by pressing the valve.
IMPORTANT - The junction between the door frame and the substrate should be fully filled with Blue 60 fire rated foam.
Architraves can then be fitted over un-cured foam or alternatively foam can be allowed to cure and then be removed mechanically.

FAQs

Hi, after using Blue 60, is there any minimum thickness the architrave needs to be used to close the gap. Looking at the technical documentation, it does not look like that any architrave is require for fire stopping purposes, just for cosmetic purposes. Normally we would install 15mm architrave but I cannot see it being required.

If this product was used to seal around plastic pipe , would it have a detrimental effect to the pipework .for example , cause it to become weak or brittle ?

The Blue 60 expanding foam gives up to 60 minutes fire protection to timber doorsets and I have no test evidence for plastic pipes sorry.

Is there a minimum frame width required for the use of Blue60?
