498 in stock Fire pipe collars and wraps are intumescent devices installed around pipe penetrations through fire-rated walls and floors. In normal conditions they sit discreetly around the pipe; in a fire, the intumescent material expands at a controlled temperature, closing off the aperture as the pipe melts away. This reinstates the fire compartment and forms an effective smoke protection barrier, preventing fire and smoke from travelling between rooms, floors or building zones.
Collars and wraps are commonly specified by installers, contractors and specifiers for plastic pipe penetrations — including PVC, HDPE, MDPE, PP and ABS — through masonry, concrete, plasterboard and timber constructions. Typical applications include soil and waste pipes, rainwater pipes, and service risers in commercial, industrial and residential buildings.
Pipe collars are surface-mounted metal housings containing intumescent material, fixed to the face of the wall or floor — ideal for retrofit and exposed pipework. Pipe wraps are flexible intumescent strips installed within the penetration itself, offering a concealed finish suited to new-build and in-wall applications.
Correct selection depends on the pipe material, diameter, substrate and the required fire resistance period. For a complete firestop solution, explore our wider fire stopping range, including intumescent sealants & mastics and fire batts.
