FIREFLY Fire Collar (FCR) - 50mm

The FIREFLY Fire Collar (FCR) is a powder-coated steel penetration sealing device containing high-expansion intumescent graphite, engineered to restore the fire integrity of walls and floors where combustible pipes penetrate fire-rated compartments. It is primarily used by passive fire protection contractors to protect PVCu, PP, PE-X, and HDPE pipework in both masonry and flexible partition installations.

The core performance of the FCR lies in its high-volume expansion capabilities. Tested to BS EN 1366-3:2021, the internal graphite material activates at 150°C, generating enough pressure to crush the plastic pipe as it softens. This ensures a robust, reliable seal is maintained even after the pipe has melted away, providing up to 4 hours of fire resistance.

Designed with site efficiency in mind, the FCR allows for a versatile retro-fit application. It can be secured around existing services without the need to disconnect pipework, significantly reducing labour time on-site. The collar is specifically optimised for use alongside the FIREFLY range, including flexible fire barriers and the FB180 Batt Wall and Floor system. This compatibility allows contractors to install a fully tested, unified system, providing peace of mind that all components will perform together under fire conditions.

To maintain full fire certification, this product should be used in conjunction with FIREFLY Intumescent Acrylic sealant and appropriate FIREFLY pigtail screws or fixings as per the tested installation drawings.

Required Installation Consumables

For a fully compliant installation in accordance with the fire test data:

• Sealing: The collar must be bedded onto the substrate using FIREFLY Intumescent Acrylic Sealant.
• Oversized Openings: If the hole around the pipe is oversized, wrap the pipe with FIREFLY CollaRoll before installing the collar.
• Wall/Floor Systems: Fully compatible for installation into FB180 Ablative Batt systems.
