The Rockwool FirePro Pipe Collar (160mm) is a heavy-duty galvanised steel unit designed to reinstate the fire resistance of flexible walls, rigid walls, and floors penetrated by 160mm combustible plastic pipes. It is specifically engineered to restore the fire performance of the substrate, preventing the passage of flame and smoke through service voids.
At the core of the unit is a high-performance graphite-based intumescent liner. In the event of a fire, this material reacts to heat by expanding with significant volume and pressure. This expansion crushes the softening plastic pipe (PVC, PP, PE, HDPE, or MLCP) as it melts, creating a solid char plug that completely seals the aperture. This mechanism is critical for maintaining compartmentation for up to 4 hours (EI240), ensuring compliance with Approved Document B.
Designed for trade efficiency, the FirePro Pipe Collar is surface-mounted, making it ideal for retrofit scenarios where pipework is already in situ. The robust galvanised steel shell provides mechanical protection for the intumescent core and ensures secure fixing to plasterboard, masonry, or concrete substrates. It is rigorously tested for use with a wide range of plastic pipe materials and is suitable for use in both ventilated and non-ventilated pipe systems.
