The Rockwool Fire Barrier EN Angle Support is the mandatory fixing component required to install the Rockwool Fire Barrier EN system. Engineered from 2mm gauge galvanised steel, this 1m length of angle is designed to secure the fire barrier to concrete soffits, timber trusses, and partition heads while maintaining the system's full EI 120 fire resistance rating.
Speed of Installation
Unlike standard construction angles, this support features a specialised "tabbed" design that significantly speeds up installation. Once the angle is anchored to the substrate, the integral tabs are simply bent outwards. The stone wool barrier is then impaled directly onto these tabs, followed by the Rockwool Fire Barrier EN Clamping Plate. The tabs are then bent over to lock the system in place. This tool-free securing mechanism removes the need for drilling washers or fiddling with separate nuts and bolts at height, saving valuable time on extensive void projects.
System Compliance
Fire stopping is only as effective as its fixings. This angle support is the specific component used during BS EN 1364-1 and BS EN 1634-1 testing. Using generic lightweight angles or timber battens instead of this specified 2mm steel component will void the UL classification and certification. By using the correct angle, you ensure the barrier remains structurally sound and capable of preventing smoke and flame passage for up to 2 hours.
