FIREFLY Zeus Lite 90:30 Flexible Fire Barrier - Vertical - 1.27m x 6m

TBA Firefly Zeus Lite 90:30 is a flexible fire barrier designed for vertical installation to compartmentalise concealed voids, delivering 90 minutes of integrity and 30 minutes of thermal insulation in accordance with BS 476: Part 22: 1987. Engineered specifically for use in roof voids, lofts, and industrial spaces, this barrier isolates large areas to prevent fire and smoke spread while maintaining a manageable weight for installers working in restricted access zones.

For contractors, the primary challenge in passive fire protection is often achieving the required insulation rating (heat transfer prevention) without using heavy rigid boards. Zeus Lite solves this by offering a "Grade X" durability-rated fabric that blocks fire for an hour and a half while keeping the unexposed side cool enough to prevent ignition for 30 minutes. This capability makes it an ideal solution for retrofits where compartmentalisation lines must be established quickly and effectively without structural reinforcement.

The material consists of a woven glass fibre fabric treated with a proprietary coating and laminated with aluminium foil, resulting in a product that is chemically stable, non-toxic, and easy to cut. Its lightweight nature (nominally 1.44kg/m²) allows a single tradesperson to manoeuvre rolls into position and fix them using the certified system of angles and staples.

The system is third-party certified by IFCC (Certificate 1462), ensuring that when installed correctly, your work meets the necessary compliance standards for vertical barriers.

System Compatibility & Installation Requirements

To maintain the certified fire rating, this barrier must be installed as a complete system using the following components:

• Framework Support: Construct the grid using 50mm Supporting Angle and secure the barrier with 25mm Clamping Angle.
• Mechanical Fixings: Fix to the metal framework using Pancake Head TEK Screws combined with 19mm Penny Washers to prevent tearing.
• Securing Overlaps: All 150mm overlaps must be stapled using 12mm B16 Staples applied with the B16 Staple Gun.
• Sealing Perimeters: Ensure all gaps and perimeters are sealed with FR Graphite High Expansion Sealant.
