The Firefly Zeus Horizontal 60:30 is a non-rigid fire barrier delivering 60 minutes integrity and 30 minutes insulation, designed to maintain fire-rated compartmentation lines through horizontal concealed spaces such as roof voids, loft areas, and below mezzanine floors and balcony structures across social housing, care homes, healthcare and commercial buildings.
The Zeus Horizontal is specifically designed, tested and certified in the horizontal orientation to BS 476 Parts 20/22:1987. This is a critical distinction: the 60:30 performance rating is derived from testing that directly replicates the barrier's actual installed position, removing any ambiguity around orientation-related performance assumptions.
The product carries independent third-party certification from IFCC/Kiwa (Certificate IFCC 1532). It also passes BS 476 Parts 6 and 7 for fire propagation and surface spread of flame.
On site, the Zeus Horizontal is genuinely practical: manufactured from layers of aluminium, woven and nonwoven glass fibre with a proprietary coating that optimises thermal properties and helps prevent fibre migration during handling and cutting. Weighing just 2.2kg/m² at a minimum 10mm thickness, it's flexible enough to manipulate through restricted access points and around obstructions in concealed voids.
