Intumescent Lock Protection

An intumescent lock protection kit is designed to prevent heat from transferring to locks and latches installed in timber fire doors. In the event of a fire, these kits expand to seal gaps around locks and latches, helping to maintain the integrity of the door.

Without lock protection, the fire rating of the entire door assembly can be compromised, as unprotected hardware creates weak points within the door. Intumescent protection ensures that the ironmongery perform exactly as tested in fire conditions and that the installation complies with current fire safety regulations.
