Description

The FIREFLY Span is a compressible, intumescent linear joint seal designed to prevent the spread of fire, smoke, and sound through construction joints. Ideal for head-of-wall, floor, and curtain wall perimeter joints, it expands rapidly under heat to ensure continuous compartmentation.

  • Accelerate your installation: The friction-fit design eliminates the need for adhesives or mechanical fixings, allowing you to seal joints rapidly and efficiently.
  • Ensure strict compliance: Tested to BS EN 1366-4, this foam and graphite seal provides up to 60 minutes of fire resistance (EI60), giving you total confidence during building control sign-off.
  • Accommodate structural movement: Features high compressibility and recovery properties, meaning the seal will not fail or dislodge when the building naturally shifts.
  • Built-in acoustic barrier: Beyond fire safety, it delivers excellent sound reduction and thermal insulation, meeting multiple building regulations with a single product.

This 75mm x 100mm x 1000mm profile is specifically sized for gaps between 51mm and 75mm, making it highly versatile for standard expansion joints and blockwork interfaces. It remains fully functional in demanding environments, offering strong resistance to moisture, aging, and temperature fluctuations from -5°C to +40°C. Upon reaching an activation temperature of 150°C, the intumescent graphite core expands aggressively to seal the void against flame and smoke bypass.
