Installing cables or services in fire walls affects the fire integrity as fire or smoke can spread through the gaps created. Fire batts are an ideal solution when installing services or cabling through a fire wall which reduce the spread of fire and smoke through a building.
Ablative-coated fire batts are high-density mineral fibre boards with a fire rated, ablative coating. They provide up to four hours of fire and smoke protection during a fire. This makes them an excellent choice for sealing around wall and floor penetrations.
Some of the bestselling fire-rated batts we supply include the Stopseal 50mm Fire Batt – which is fire and smoke resistant for up to 240 minutes - the QuelStop 50mm Fire Batt, which has a fire rating of up to 2 hours - and the Rockwool 50mm Fire Batt which is fire-rated for up to 2 hours.
