The Protecta FR Collar is a market-leading solution for fire-stopping plastic pipe and other service penetrations. It is designed to quickly and effectively reinstate the fire performance of fire-rated walls and floors, making it an essential component for maintaining compartmentation on site.
Each collar consists of a robust, powder-coated steel shell containing a high-end, fast-expanding graphite-based intumescent material. When exposed to the heat of a fire (from 105°C), the intumescent rapidly expands and crushes the softening plastic pipe, completely sealing the opening. This prevents the passage of fire and hot smoke to the adjacent compartment, providing up to 4 hours of fire protection.
