The Protecta FR Board 2-S is a high-performance, dual-sided coated fire protection board designed to prevent the spread of fire and smoke through service openings.

Dual-Sided Coating: Coated on both sides for maximum fire resistance and installation flexibility.
Superior Fire & Smoke Barrier: Prevents fire and smoke passage through openings in fire-rated walls and floors.
Acoustic Insulation: Maintains and enhances the acoustic performance of walls and floors.

Description

The Protecta FR Board 2-S is an essential component for passive fire protection, designed to seal openings in fire-rated walls and floors created for multiple building services. This board is comprised of a high-density stone wool core, which is factory-finished with Protecta FR Coating on both sides.

This dual-sided ablative coating provides significant fire protection by reducing the permeability of the stone wool core, preventing the passage of hot gases. This action effectively lowers the temperature rise on the unexposed side and reduces heat conduction through the penetrating services.

In addition to its fire-stopping capabilities, the Protecta FR Board also maintains the designed acoustic performance of the wall or floor it is installed in. It is suitable for use in a wide range of constructions and can be combined with Protecta FR Acrylic sealant for a complete fire-stopping system around services and the surrounding structure. It has been tested for up to 2 hours of fire resistance in various applications.
