FIREFLY FR Graphite High Expansion Sealant is a professional-grade intumescent mastic tested to BS EN 1364 and BS EN 1366, engineered to provide a robust fire-rated seal around service penetrations and joints in walls and floors. Designed for high-performance fire stopping, it exerts significant pressure during expansion to close off voids created by the combustion of pipes, cables, and insulation.

The primary advantage of this formulation is its exceptional 700% expansion factor. This allows the sealant to bridge voids up to 80mm, making it an essential solution for complex penetrations where standard sealants would fail to provide sufficient coverage. Because it exerts pressure as it expands, it is particularly effective at crushing softening plastic pipes to prevent the passage of flame and hot gases, often eliminating the requirement for separate pipe wraps or collars in tested applications.

For the contractor, this sealant ensures high efficiency and reduced call-backs. The low-sag properties allow for easy application in both vertical and horizontal joints up to 40mm wide, while the water-based formula ensures it is easy to clean and safe for use in confined spaces without generating volatiles. It is compatible with a wide range of substrates and can be used as an integral component of a tested FIREFLY FB180 Ablative Batt system, providing a versatile, "all-in-one" solution for fire-stopping requirements on-site.
