What is the Superior?
The Superior is a brand new drop down door seal model from CCE, the manufacturer of the popular Applique drop down seal.
This high-performance, rebated model is designed to stop fire and smoke from passing under a door, as well as forming an effective barrier against noise, light, insects, and the outside climate.
The seal mechanism is activated by the closing action of the door, meaning the seal only drops down when the door is closed, and self-levels on uneven surfaces.

Founded in 1980, CCE has more than 40 years experience in the sector of drop down door seals for fire, smoke, and acoustic capabilities.
Based out of Italy, CCE are known for their top quality and dedication to research and development. Their research into materials has led to successful testing of 60 or 120 minutes fire resistance carried out according to the latest BS EN 1634-1:2000 standard.

The advantages of a rebated drop down seal
A rebated drop down seal such as the Superior is fitted by routing out a channel in the bottom of the door into which the seal can be fitted. This differs from a surface mounted drop down seal which can be fitted to the exterior of the bottom of the door.
Due to the doors needing to be removed from the frame during installation, rebated drop down seals are usually used in new doors rather than in retrofitting or upgrading existing doors, however they offer a range of benefits that may suit certain projects:
