Passive Fire Protection

Passive fire protection (or PFP) is the term given to fire safety equipment that’s quite literally built into the structure of a building to offer integrity, stability and assurance that it can contain fire and smoke to a single compartment.

Drop down seals, intumescent strips, fire door locks, door frame packers and glazing seals, for example, perform a vital role in helping prevent the spread of fire and smoke by sealing vulnerable gaps around a fire door.
